Whilst Presence shows when a user is available in real time, Instant Messaging will get a faster response, as its’ real-time – so no delay in waiting for an email response and no time lost leaving a voicemail. Conversation history is retained, helping users to keep track of conversations and retrieve important information. And it looks similar to Skype, reducing the learning curve and increasing adoption.

Persistent chat — enhances team communication and enables geographically distributed teams to work together efficiently. It extends Instant Messaging, so groups of users can participate in on-going discussions on topics of shared interest. History is maintained so teams in different locations and departments can review discussions, even when users are online at different times.

Unified Messaging — integrates email, fax and voicemail, into a single interface. Use Outlook client or Outlook Web App on your PC or use headset or speaker phone, to retrieve all your communication including voicemail from a single location, enabling more efficient working.
